Casual encounters by design

Fast company

Denise is featured in Fast Company this month talking about how design can foster collaboration. Traditionally, the spaces for group interaction have been formal meeting rooms or studios– but recent studies of the impact of workplace design on productivity suggest the more collaborative work that gets done at a company, the happier the staff and the happier the effect on the bottom line.

Denise presents to Fast Company three examples of non-traditional collaboration spaces from recent projects– Square, Quid and Evernote– that demonstrate how informal meetings– in a cubby, in a “meat locker,” on a wide expanse of stairs– can be as productive as an actual conference.
